What is personal shopping

What is personal shopping? Well, that can be hard to define, but let me try! I help you find, purchase, and bring you the right clothes and outfits, styling them in a way that will bring out the most confidence “you”. There are several reasons why my clients request personal shopping.

The first has to do with time - some of my clients do not have the time to go into the store, hunt down the items you want, and then return the items that don’t fit or work out. I have also found that after a wardrobe audit, and often times after our 1:1 shopping trips, my client understand that I have a good pulse on what items they would like and need. Whatever your reason, I am here for you!

Personal shopping can be tailored to your specific needs. You can invite me along on your shopping trip to offer advice, make outfit suggestions, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t want someone fun to shop with? This is a great time to put into practice the lessons you learned during our first shopping trip! Or, if you are a seasoned shopper, I can take your measurements and hunt down the newest outfits for you.

This option keeps your wardrobe looking fresh and up-to-date. With my in-depth knowledge of your likes and wants, I am better prepared to find the right clothing item(s) for you at the right time! Whether I am out shopping for myself, for another client, or specifically for you, personal shopping is a great addition to any of your fashionable needs! The best part… I find the items, bring them to you, and will even return the items you decide are a no go.

White Shoe Consulting specializes in Wardrobe Consulting, Career Development, and Life-Coaching. Together, this package of skills will take you to the next level, help you achieve, and make you a more confident individual. My reviews speak for themselves and I am so confident in my ability to help you achieve your goals that my first call is 100% refundable and risk-free!

Go For A Fancy Dress Christmas Party For Your Child

Are you looking for a unique idea for your Christmas party? Well, the normal parties with balloons and streamers are quite ordinary now. You would need to get some really out-of-the-world ideas to make your Christmas party stand out. So why not go for a fancy dress Christmas party?

It is no surprise that children love to dress up. So a fancy dress Christmas party would be just the thing to make your party the most talked about. A fancy dress Christmas party will make the right kind of impression. But it is needless to say that you need to plan appropriately for this one.

For instance, when you send out the invitations to your child's guests, do mention that it will be a fancy dress party. Remember to send out the invitations at least 3 weeks in advance so that the parents of the children can get their costumes ready. If there is a theme for the party, then you could ask everyone to make their costumes according to the theme. For instance, if the theme is Pirates, everyone could come in a pirate costume.

Of course, it is not necessary to stick to the theme. There are many costume ideas available, right from princess to fairy, from animal to plant. The trick is to get as creative as possible. Be as innovative as possible.

However, when it comes to fancy dress Christmas parties, remember that kids might make a mess, so be sure to keep away all breakables and delicate objects. Also, keep a first aid kit handy as there might be accidents what with so many big costumes moving about. It is always good to be prepared for accidents.

So in conclusion, a fancy dress Christmas party would be really great for your child. Everyone would have a great time, and your party would be the talk of the town for ages!

Do stylists only offer wardrobe services?

As a stylist, I talk through all aspects of your image including your hairstyle, face, and body shape. Beyond that, I also help clients clean out their closets and identify items that can be saved, donated, or trashed. We then work on organizing their closet into a system that makes the most sense to them. I also offer personal shopping trips, personal shopping on a client's behalf, virtual consulting, virtual shopping trips with a shoppable Lookbook, and I teach a Savvy Shopping training course!

On many occasions, I have had my wardrobe styling clients turn into home décor consults. Often, fashion and home styling have similar characteristics and – because it’s also another hobby of mine – I like to assist them with home styling as well.

Picking Out Your Engagement Rings - Denver

Engagement Ring Shopping Tips to Help You Find the Perfect Ring

So, you’ve found somebody that you actually like enough to put a ring on it! Congratulations! That is a huge milestone. Like you, I found myself in this situation late last Spring, and, being fresh to a new city, I didn’t particularly know where to start when finding a ring.

Picking Out Your Own Engagement Ring

My fiancé and I had discussed rings and even looked on occasion but I had no idea what I was going to get him. Most couples try to keep the ring a surprise but with such a big purchase, it is hard to leave that up to chance.

Diamond Ring Shopping

So, how do you go about picking the perfect ring? Whether you’re a same-sex couple or a straight couple, the journey can actually be relatively easy. Luckily for you, your Denver Personal Stylist already has this experience and I can help you with the entire process. The biggest advice I can offer from the get is to communicate!

Engagement Ring Guide

We took the time to look individually and together all over the internet. We created folders on our phone, Instagram, and Pinterest pages that contained everything we liked. When we came together, we discussed stone vs no stone, colors, metals, and talked about what designs spoke to us and moved us! We did not take cost into consideration at this stage—think of it as the discovery phase. You are just trying to determine what designs make you smile.

How to Become a Personal Shopper - White Shoe Consulting

Although personal shopping isn't a traditional career path, there are a few concrete ways to gain experience.

Learn all about the fashion industry. You'll need to have a solid understanding of the fashion industry, including the latest fashion trends, fair pricing, and creative styling. Read fashion magazines and books. If you're looking for hands-on experience, consider working in another area of the fashion industry. You might work in retail or as an assistant to a stylist or fashion photographer. Whatever you do, spending time around industry professionals will help your personal shopping career.

Learn about fit and tailoring.

Even though tailoring might not be part of your job as a personal shopper, it is your job to help your client find something that fits. Understanding the basics of how garments fit and how to tailor clothes can help you identify which cuts will suit your client's unique body.

Learn about photography.

You can attract new clients by showcasing your fashion photography on social media. You don't need a fancy camera, but you do need to learn to direct your models and style their clothes to look great.

Practice on friends and family.

Your first client base consists of the people you already know. Offer your skills to friends and family. In exchange for helping them find the perfect outfit, ask if you can post a photo of them looking amazing on your social media accounts. This is a great way to attract potential clients while practicing your skills. Try to work with a variety of body types and personal styles. You may be great at buying your own clothes, but shopping for someone else is an entirely different game.

Provide a VIP shopping experience.

Shopping can be a vulnerable experience, so it's important to make your clients feel comfortable. Consider ways you can prepare for your client in advance, such as planning a shopping route, making connections with helpful salespeople to get the best customer service, and ensuring an easy and relaxing dressing room experience.

How to Choose a Personal Stylist and Personal Shopper

Personal Styling is now a more recognized concept, in the advent of Trinny & Susannah advising us on What Not To Wear, Gok Wan teaching us How to Look Good Naked and 10 Years Younger. Although in the real world there are no 3D mirrors, glamorous photoshoots, or invasive surgery, the general principle is the same - helping people to look and feel their absolute best.

However, who you choose to give you a Fashion Makeover is a big decision and therefore one you need to make carefully.

Whatever has prompted your search for a Personal Stylist (e.g. new mum struggling with her post-baby figure and/or wardrobe, getting older but not sure how to evolve your look, wardrobe full but seemingly have nothing to wear, etc.), you need to choose a Personal Stylist you can trust to achieve the best results for you.

There are three steps to selecting a personal stylist &/or personal shopper:

Step 1: Objective

Establish exactly what you're discontent with, what don't you like about your look/wardrobe/shopping habits? Why doesn't it work for you?

Step 2: Research

Compare the service offering and pricing and pull together a shortlist of Personal Stylists / Personal Shoppers in your local area.

Step 3: Enquiry

Engage with the Personal Stylists you're considering, to ensure the service is right for your needs but more so that the Personal Stylist is right for you.

As you go through this process there is a range of criteria to consider - there's probably more to think about than you may at first believe. In fact, when I sat down to write this I didn't expect to have to divide the post into two parts to make it more easily digestible! However, I didn't want to miss anything out so that you can choose a personal stylist or personal shopper wisely.

Are they a good personality fit for you?

Be sure they are going to deliver a service in a manner that is right for you? Are they approachable, friendly, down-to-earth and passionate - ultimately you should enjoy your experience and feel totally at ease in the company of the Personal Stylist (rather than be intimidated by their knowledge and experience!) I'd recommend phoning a stylist to get a sense of whether they are a good fit for you. Talk through your needs - they should be able to advise you accordingly but also reassure you as to how they can help you.

Ultimately, it's a two-way process - you are working together. It's not just the Personal Stylist doing their thing. Do you feel at ease talking to them? Are you able to communicate well? Judge them on their response to your requirements and situation.

Some stylists will have the video on their site or on YouTube so you'll be able to get an idea for their personality from that. After all, you are going to be spending several hours together on something very personal so you want to be sure.

The best sessions feel like shopping with a friend - one who just happens to be able to help you with your personal style!

How experienced are they?

You are putting a lot of faith in this Personal Stylist & Personal Shopper for something that is very important to you - so do check how experienced they are. How many years have they been working in personal styling? Have they had professional training - was it a vocational hands-on, practical course or just a correspondence course? Do they have a real aptitude for Personal Styling? Which brings me to my next point...

Do they look GREAT?

If you go to the hairdresser you look at their hair. If you are having a makeup lesson you check out the artist's own makeup. The same applies to choose a Personal Stylist & Personal Shopper. Do they look like the living embodiment of what they offer in a good or bad way?

Think about what you want to achieve in your session. For example, if you are interested in Colour Analysis are the photos on their website proof that they can mix and match colors well? Or are they just dressed in black or white? Similarly, if you want to dress a challenging body shape flatteringly have they managed to achieve that with their own look? (Assuming they aren't a lucky blighter who doesn't need to!)

This doesn't mean that they have to be dressed in a look that matches your style - a skilled personal stylist and personal shopper who listens to their brief will be able to reflect a client's style personality - but they should look like they know a thing or two!

Don't be shy - if there's little evidence on the website (or just ahead and shoulder's shot) then ask them to send you some photos of them in a range of outfits.

What is their approach?

There's a lot to take in whether you are considering a Personal Styling, Personal Shopping, or Wardrobe Styling session so will the stylist's approach suit your style of learning? Will it be delivered in a manner that will ensure you follow and do what you have learned? One way to check this is if you speak to them on the phone - when they talk through what will happen in your potential session was it easy to follow or did they use jargon that wasn't clear to you?

Are their services right for you?

Personal Stylists and Personal Shoppers offer an array of services from Colour Analysis and Style Analysis to Wardrobe Styling and Personal Shopping sessions of men and women. Do they offer the right package to suit you and your needs?

If you're busy do they offer a pre-shop service whereby they select items before you meet so you can have a one big try-on to kick off a shopping session? Or if you are on a budget do they let you pick and choose sessions or must you take a bundle of a half-day or a day?

You may have a particular need such as work styling, new mum styling, wedding styling, or teenage styling. Do they offer such tailored services that meet your needs?

Is the Price Right?

An obvious one but does the price allow you to meet your objectives when you have factored in actually buying new clothes? Which leads me on to...

Can the Personal Stylist / Personal Shopper offer convenient appointment times?

If you work you may wish to take time off and make a special day of your personal styling or personal shopping experience. However, if you don't can they offer a session at a time that works for you - perhaps in the evening or at weekends?

Will they take you to the stores you like?

No doubt you'll have an idea in mind of where you want to shop - low to high-end high street stores, designer boutiques, and so on. Some stylists specialize in parts of the market and others are confident across the spectrum. You need to be comfortable that any Personal Shopper you choose is going to be able to match your budget and style.

If you are on a limited budget will they be happy taking you to H&M? Or at the higher end do they know their way around the top designers at Selfridges?

Check you are the only client!

You should never feel obliged to buy anything in a session - you are paying for a personal shopper's time and they should be independent. If they are being paid by anyone else you are not the only client - if they earn commission in the stores you visit you are not getting independent advice.

Does your (potential) Image Consultant offer a FREE, no-obligation consultation?

Before booking your session, always ask for a consultation which should last for approx. 15 minutes, so that you can discuss your needs. Your Personal Stylist should not only show interest and empathy but demonstrate a clear understanding of your situation and ensure you book the best service to suit you and your budget.

Can they provide happy customer testimonials?

The real proof point of course do they have happy customers. Quotes from named customers on personal stylist and personal shopper's website will give you a certain confidence. You can always go a step further and ask if you can have a chat or drop an email to a former customer. A good stylist will have customers who are so enthusiastic about their service they'd be happy to talk.

Also, you should ask any personal stylist and personal shopper whether they have had a customer with a similar need to you - you'll be able to tell from this response how well they can relate to you and ultimately help you.

Hopefully, that gives you some pointers to finding a personal stylist and personal shopper who suits you and your needs. Not everyone will be right for you so it's important that you are comfortable with the person, are sure they 'get' you, are confident that they know their subject, and can deliver a service that is right for you. If they tick all the boxes you will I believe make the right choice.

Wardrobe Audit Denver - White Shoe Consulting

Wardrobe Audit

To better understand how I can help you and your individual “style”, I perform a wardrobe audit. During this process, I personally visit your home and both you and I will comb through the items in your closet. This “audit” can be as intensive as you would like, but I always find the more detailed we get them, the easier it is to get a sense of how I can help. The purpose of this exercise is to give me a better understanding of your current style, what fits, and what does not. By the end of this exercise, I will have a strong sense of how I can create a tailored style that fits your wants and needs and ultimately makes you feel the most confident.

While we go through your closet, we will also identify clothes that no longer fit, items that may need to be replaced and updated, pieces that could be tailored to fit your body and style better, while also allowing us to identify clothing that can be donated to those in need. The goal of this exercise is not to tell you to “get rid of everything”, rather, I want to identify how we can best enhance what you currently have by updating current pieces so that we can be thoughtful with future purchases. I want your closet/wardrobe to work for you and your confidence, not the other way around.

The wardrobe audit can also be done virtually across the world. The Wardrobe Audit ranges anywhere from 1-3 hours.

Don’t forget your pants!

Personal Stylist

How are your zoom calls going? Have you had to have any 1:1’s with your boss? Are you preparing for an interview? Are you only dressing your upper half and neglecting your lower half? Are you finding that you forgot about pants? Well this poor guy did and I really want to help you avoid this awkwardness:
From the waist up he dressed professionally, however, check out that LEG! Whoops, looks like somebody has gotten too comfortable taking his calls pantless –folks, this is why you should always check-in with your fashion consultant from Denver—I will always tell you to put your pants on!
Hilarity aside, are you dressing appropriately for your video-conference calls? There is an easy and simple hack to do this…
Are you ready?
Dress like you normally would for an important meeting (see the examples below) BUT test your outfit out on camera! Some patterns, colors, and accessories can become distorted and cause big distractions during your raise negotiations!
What Not To Wear:
  • Pure reds, whites, and blacks. The extremes make it difficult for exposure to balance.
    • The reds will make you appear more red.
  • Hot pink, green, yellow, purple, orange—really any hot colors. They will make you look like you are not from this planet!
  • Colors that complement your complexion. If you are pale, white will make you look ghostly. If your skin tone is on the red side, avoid the red power tie!
Do not distract and avoid the following:
  • Loud or Dangly jewelry.
  • Reflective applications such as lip gloss.
  • Anything that is too revealing. You want all eyes on, well, your eyes!
For all of you out there, try to avoid complex patterns or stripes! It will look like your shirt or blouse is moving to cause even more distraction!

So what can you wear Mr. Fashion Consultant?

  • Light Fabrics
  • Solid Colors
  • Subtle Jewelry
  • Colors that contrast such as a black suit jacket with a blue shirt/blouse.
Please note that this is a guide and depending on the quality of the camera you are using you may or may not find this to be true! Always test your outfit with your camera before any big teleconferencing meeting.
I hope that this guide is helpful for you and that you don’t end up going viral for being caught pantless because my people never forget their pants!
One final note: Remember to keep eye contact! Yes, that means staring at the camera hole during your meeting instead of staring at the floating head on your screen!
Want to learn more? Reach out! I would be happy to help you choose your next outfit for the camera!

How To Find And Use A Personal Stylist Service - Denver

What if you learned how to find a personal stylist service that shopped to make you look great at the same time?

Don't you want to dress like a professional stylist like celebrities do, but for free?

The purpose of this article is to tell you how to find, use, and receive a personal stylist service.

https://spencerboyce.com/pricing/?utm_source=google
Personal Stylist

There are 5 easy steps to master personal stylist service.

Step 1 - Find a Personal Stylist Service

Step 2 - Consider the cost of services

Step 3 - Let the stylist know who you are

Step 4 - Purchase Stylist Design Outfits

Step 5 - Get your new look

Again, the purpose of this article is to show you how a personal stylist service works for you.

Let's get down to step-by-step details below and get a stylish designed to you today ...

Step 1 - Find a Personal Stylist Service

Perhaps, to your disbelief, you can find a personal stylist service and receive celebrity treatment in no time. The biggest hurdle is to find that service. Most celebrities hire a stylist who works exclusively with about 20 -30 other celebrities. However, there are some personal stylist services that are up and running only for us.

I have tried several with mixed results. I am writing this article to help you, so I am going to give you details about a personal stylist I trust and live with love. All of the following information will be specifically related to… fantastic personal stylist services by the way.

Step 2 - Consider the cost of services

Celebrities can pay thousands of dollars for personal stylist services on top of thousands of dollars for stylist-designed clothing. I don't know about you, but I would like to see it as a little fab as possible. There is no better price than this for free. Great personal stylist services by the way are free! enough said.

Just you know, the service is free, so all you have to do is buy clothes that are designed for you.

Step 3 - The stylist knows who you are

For celebrities, they usually have several meetings with their stylist and a friendship develops and really get to know each other. Over time, the stylist learns customers' likes/dislikes / tastes and can simply look at a piece and learn whether the celeb will love or hate it. Since an online personal stylist service is not face-to-face, you want two things. 1) You want stylists to know more and more about you. Make sure they know your likes and dislikes. 2) You want to build a clientship with your stylist. You want to know the point of your stylist spontaneously.

This is not an easy task but over time it gets easier. With my experience with Way to Fabulous Personal Stylist Service, I have never had an issue. They master what they do and I always like what they design for me.

Step 4 - Purchase Stylist Design Outfits

If you don't know how this service works, I will fill you in on it now. Just fill out a request form on the Very Fabulous website. This form takes all kinds of information from your size, occasion and color preferences. Within 7 days, a stylist will put together several outfits to choose from. They will email you the results and price and you choose the ones you love and want to buy. They will then upload the organizations you choose on their website so that you can buy them. They will actually be in your name. (It is totally cool and makes me feel like a celeb)!

As I said before, the service is free, so you only buy outfits that were specifically designed just for you!

Step 5 - Get your new look

I always feel like a celebrity when I wear one of my stylist's designed outfits. The pavement becomes my catwalk. If you're wearing a dress that was personally styled just for you ... show it off! You are a celebrity for the day.

The way great personal stylist service designs just about any occasion. Be it the first day of school, first date, club night, work ho sori ... You got the point. I could not live with them and did not mention that they shop hard and always make me feel and look fabulously!

Do you want to learn how do I do this? Check it out ...

"Way to Fabulous Boutique" It's Not Just a Clothing Store, It's an Experience ... Discover all the requirements listed in this article and more in this fabulous new boutique.

Emerging Comfortably - White Shoe Consulting

Personal Stylist in Denver

As a personal stylist in Denver, I have missed browsing the mall and it doesn't seem like I will be shopping in a store any time soon. As stay-at-home orders get extended, we are all getting comfier in our sweatpants. It’s common for the time between showers to grow longer and for regular “dressing” standards to go out the window. However, states are beginning to reopen and the time will come when you’re back to work without the comfort of your sweatpants.

How can you get a jump start? Well, all our habits are out the window and statewide reopenings are going to slowly occur. This gives you time to slowly emerge from your COVID-like cocoon and begin to strut your stuff!

Where should you start? With a Lookbook!

My go-to “I want to start dressing like a human but still be comfortable” outfit begins with Lululemon!

For the boys: ABC Pant Slim

ABC Pant Slim
Why?

These pants are uber comfortable. They offer four-way stretch, have smart pockets (if you don’t like carrying a wallet, the back pocket has an internal zipper that is perfect for a credit card and ID), if you roll the pants you will see reflective detailing (I need a bike!!) and they are super easy to maintain. They look good in all types of casual settings—and you’ll see me where these to all types of work conferences!

I highly recommend the blue because they will go with all sorts of your Spring/Summer looks.
For your shirt, I recommend the Commission Long Sleeve Shirt.

Commission Long Sleeve Shirt
Tip: Do a quick steam job and add a spritz of your favorite cologne to start turning heads!

Why:
This shirt is made to move. It uses sweat-wicking fabric, dries quickly, and uses No-Stink technology to stop the growth of odor-causing bacteria. It’s a great shirt for mini travel days when laundry isn’t available. It also has a zippered pocket for even more cards!
I highly recommend the white because it is steadfast, strong, and enables your personality to shine while taking a back seat.

For the girls: Ladies have an easier time (in my opinion) dressing comfortable and professional. Just like the boys, Lulu has you covered.
I really like the Noir Pant in Gatsby Blue.

Noir Pant in Gatsby Blue
Why?

These pants are machine washable, quick-drying, and use a sleek draping to add a comfortable sophistication to your outfit. They sit higher on your waist to help give the illusion that it is smaller, finished off by the bow! The front pockets contain hidden card pockets to reduce bulk and free up your hands to do some ass-kicking.

For your shirt, I am loving the Seek Softness Pullover in Ballet Slipper Pink. This pullover is adorable and creates a cute matching combo with the pants.

Seek Softness Pullover in Ballet Slipper Pink
Why?
This pullover has a relaxed fit and a cropped length adding to the comfort factor and enables you to wear the high-rise Noir pant. The fabric is super soft, easy to layer, and keeps you warm. Plus, it’s just cute.

Now, I hope you are all set to start migrating back into the real world with this highly comfortable “go from the bed to your office” look.

If you have specific questions about how to achieve a comfortable yet work-appropriate look, shoot me a message. I would be happy to assist whether you are local or need a virtual personal stylist!
